The idea for Risen was born when someone at Friv2Online Games Studio painted a volcanic island in the middle of a stormy sea. "Isn't it a nice place?" - thought the rest of the "piranhas", collected their developments and began to transfer them to a new fictional universe. Soon the volcano discovered that it was in a very cruel world, from which the gods had left, but a new and, moreover, rather ominous force appeared. Not having time to appear, she began to frighten the inhabitants of the neighboring island: earthquakes began, bloodthirsty monsters settled in the forests, and then suddenly, right from the ground, she took and crawled out an ancient temple. Rumors of trouble reached the king, who sent a ship with the Inquisitors (local special forces) to solve the problem. The ship sank, and a new hero got out to the island, as always without work and place of residence, as always in rags, but already mentally trying on the skin of the savior of the universe.
A seamless world extends from the sandy shore in all directions. The compact territory is divided into several climatic zones and is densely filled with forests, fields, mountains and cities. The wilderness is inhabited by monsters - the fruit of the rich imagination of the developers. So far, only one of them has lit up: a quickly jumping blindish gorilla with record large teeth. All who are not happy with the neighborhood of this creature are hiding in the cities. These are people and so far unknown fictional races, among which there will definitely be no eared elves, no green thugs-orcs, or other peoples known to us. All races are at different stages of cultural development. This circumstance, in theory, should create difficulties for designers who take the Mediterranean style of architecture as an example,
At the same time, familiar features of " Gothic " are clearly visible in the description of the world . So, one of the cities will be significantly superior to the others. It will consist of several quarters, including the port one. And of course the player will have to try very hard to get to the closed parts of the city. As the Friv game progresses, we will be offered to join one of the guilds (so far only inquisitors and rebels are known), and then advance through it, occupying higher and higher positions.
In this way, the quest "stop the great evil" will smoothly turn into "become the most influential person on the island." You cannot count on diplomacy: influence will be determined by the ability to kill and not be killed. We are promised a modified combat system with different animations depending on the level of development of characteristics and skills. Only now, archery will remain, as before, similar to a shooter. The range of weapons from the time of " Gothic 3 " has not been cut down at all: heavy axes, staves, twin blades, as well as bows with different types of arrows thirst for enemy blood. Clothing now includes not only one piece armor, helmet, shield, rings and amulet, but also the cape fashionable in modern RPGs. The developers did not forget about the sets of items that give additional bonuses if you put them on all at once.

The good old scripts that set the daily routine for NPCs should once again make it feel like the world can easily exist without a player. From the traditional opportunity to beat the character, leaving him alive, the developers also do not refuse, as well as the introduction of immortal NPCs.
Traditionally, a lot of attention is paid to sound and music. We will be able to hear the clatter of weapons clinging to armor, heavy breathing of soldiers, shuffling of boots during a sharp change in stance, and many other background sounds. The main task of the musical themes will be to emphasize the uniqueness of the location and accompany some special events.
So far, the fate of Risen can be seen quite clearly: having found a patient and generous publisher in the person of Friv2Online Games Studio follows the beaten path of previous successful projects, slowly polishing by hand every detail of the new Friv game. And it seems that Risen will turn out to be a quality Friv game, because until now none of the Friv game makers has managed to understand and repeat the key features of the cult "Gothic". The main thing is that Piranha herself does not forget her secrets.
